It was a long day. I was very surprised about the professionalism of the service on the train. It was first class and I had an opportunity to speak with some interesting travellers.
It was slightly raining in Machu Pichu. Clouds were continually coming in and out of the mountains which made it difficult to take good photos. One thing that I learned, is that Machu Pichu is an unfinished city and they do not know why it was abandonned 30 years before the Spanish conquistadors arrived.
Machu Pichu was discovered in 1911 and esentially it is an entire city preserved. It is not like the ruins in Mexico, its a city where you can see how people were suppose to live there.
