Leaving Colombia, Arriving in Quito and Riobamba (Ecuador)

The next morning I woke early and I was ready for a long ride. I did a very serious ride. On the way, I stopped to have an ice coffee and I had a nice chat with my girlfriend and my Dad. With that amount of coffee in my stomach, I started riding south. I crossed an area that was not to be safe, and I had been advised not to stop. The view was spectacular but taking the advice from other riders, I did not stop until I arrived at the border. As a summary of Colombia, it was the best country. The people were friendly and I felt safe. The mountains in the south are split apart by big vallies and estuaries. Its a paradise for riders and I highly recommend it. when I arrived at the border at 1:00, I thought it would take a long time to cross. It was one of the easiest borders to cross. Nice, clean, with no one running towards you to complete your papers. It took me less than an hour to enter into Equador. The roads to Equador are pretty nice but missing direction signs. There is not much between the border and Quito so I headed straight to the capital. When I arrived in Quito the city was really big. I was surprised because all the towns between the border and Quito were relatively small. This was the longest ride I have done. I left at 6:00 a.m. and arrived at my desitnation at 5:00 p.m. 600 km but I was in good shape. The next day I did the cable car in Quinto and to my surprise it was the same as the one in Medallin so it was not that spectacular other than the view form the mountain top is nice.
After that I decided to ride to Ribobamba to catch the train ride to the Devil's Nose.
